More Kudos for Canada and more specifically Vancouver. Following this recent post where Canada won Top Country Brand, Vancouver has tied for 5th as one of the most livable cities in the world and the top North American City.
According to the 2011 Quality of Living Mercer Survey, Vienna has the best living standard in the world. Zurich and Auckland follow in second and third position, respectively. Munich is fourth with Düsseldorf and Vancouver sharing fifth place. Frankfurt is in seventh, followed by Geneva in eighth, while Copenhagen and Bern share ninth place.
Ottawa came in at 14th, Toronto at 15th, Montreal at 22nd and Calgary rounded out the top 50 at at 33rd.
The top United States City was Honalulu at 29th.
Canada also does very well in the Personal Safety category with Vancouver, Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal and Calgary tied for 17th place with Amsterdam out of the Top 50. The Canadian cities were the only ones to make the Top 50 in North America.
