Car Sales Up in September - providing a much need brightspot in an otherwise slowing and uncertain economy. Ford, General Motors and Chrysler on Monday all said their sales rose in September.
Analysts said they expected nearly all carmakers to report sales increases for September and estimated that total sales for the industry climbed to the highest level since April. September was the first month since the March earthquake and tsunami in Japan that Honda and Toyota were back at full capacity.
